Lake Erie West Regional Council has been recognized with the Ohio Auditor of State Award for its fiscal year 2025 audit, which covers the period ending June 30, 2025.
The Auditor of State Award is presented to public entities that demonstrate excellence in financial reporting and accountability. To qualify, organizations must submit timely financial reports prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and receive a clean audit with no significant findings, material weaknesses, questioned costs, or other financial concerns.
According to the Ohio Auditor of State's Office, only about 10 percent of the nearly 4,200 audits it conducts annually receive this recognition.
